PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

In any human life, one encounters tenderness, joy, and challenges living with constant changes of circumstances, relationships and identity. Many of these issues are what draw people to actively engage with a mindfulness program. As the program develops, and people are introduced to meditation, dialogue is encouraged between participants, the group, and with the teacher. Inquiry is an expression of interest and investigation into our own narratives and those that are shared in the MBP classroom. The teacher’s attentive and compassionate communication with a participant is not prescribed or formulaic, but emerges from the humility of not-knowing, as well as the willingness and curiosity to wonder with another. The intention is to respectfully and collaboratively reflect while listening and inviting more clarity. Often, this open-ended, shared exploration can lead to deeper understanding about, and greater ease from, self-limiting constructs.

For MB teachers, the practice of inquiry is an art that rises from one’s own deep inner listening. It also can be cultivated with guidance and practice within the safe container of a learning community. This program is designed for MB teachers to learn, practice and refine the skill and art of “wandering into the circle of wonder.”
